Abstract(s)
Objetivo: Avaliar os resultados audiométricos, 5 anos após
estapedectomia, numa série de 85 ouvidos.
Desenho do estudo: Retrospetivo
longo do tempo.
Objective: To evaluate the audiometric results 5 years after stapedectomy, in a series of 85 ears. Study Design: Retrospective Materials and methods: Analysis of audiometric results obtained 5 years after stapedectomy and comparison with the values from preoperative and early postoperative period. Results: Five years after stapedectomy closure of the air-bone gap (ABG) to ≤ 10 dB was obtained in 74% of cases. Nine patients underwent surgical revision. Six had an ABG > 20 dB, refusing surgical revision. The average ABG at 5 years was 7.17 dB, representing a hearing gain of 21.28 dB with respect to the preoperative period and an increase of 2.85 dB in the ABG with respect to early postoperative period. Conclusions: Our results audiometric 5 years after stapedectomy are satisfactory and consistent with the literature. Stapedectomy represents an effective solution in otosclerosis presenting, in most cases, stable results over time.
